The way — breathtaking — that this company performs works by George Balanchine is an enormous point in its favor. But its artistic director, Lourdes Lopez, always has a treat in store: This year it’s the company premiere of “Brahms/Handel,” the 1984 choreographic collaboration between Twyla Tharp and Jerome Robbins.
As a child obsessed with ballet, Moskalenko learned to dance after she arrived in Miami in 1968. Her career in the performing arts led her to top front-office jobs at theaters. And now she’s returned home to be Executive Director of Miami City Ballet.
