Miami Beach High School is located three blocks from Miami City Ballet’s facilities. The high school is accredited and has programs in honors, gifted and advanced placement. An advanced ballet student at the Miami City Ballet School who is a junior or senior and has a scholastic grade point average of B (unweighted 3.0) at any Miami-Dade County public school can apply for the Advanced Academic Internship Program (AAIP). The AAIP is administered by the Division of Advanced Academic Programs, Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The program allows students to finish their academic classes at 11:40 am in order to study ballet at Miami City Ballet School. Ballet becomes an elective that can be taken for one or two annual credits. Honor points are awarded for these annual credits.
