Patrick Corbin is back for Piazzolla Caldera

Patrick Corbin from the Paul Taylor Dance Company is part of the MCB family. He’s visited us many times to work on Taylor pieces such as Funny Papers, Company B, Promethean Fire, and now Piazzolla Caldera. We chatted with this very charismatic repetiteur about the sizzling, tango-flavored piece!

Program I: Fire and Ice will be presented at Adrienne Arsht Center on October 19-21, on October 26-28 at Broward Center, and at Kravis Center on November 30-December 2.

Promethean Fire with Patrick Corbin

Over the past five years, Patrick Corbin has been setting Paul Taylor works on MCB. This season he returned for the company premiere of Promethean Fire. We sat down with him for a chat on this powerful, moving piece that will be performed during Program III.

Don’t miss the premiere of Promethean Fire, as well as George Balanchine’s Scotch Symphony and Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs. Click here for tickets.

Opening night is almost here!  In the blink of an eye it’ll be October 23 and Miami City Ballet will be performing Company B during Program I.  Patrick Corbin, former Paul Taylor dancer and now Artistic Director of CorbinDances, was recently in the studios with the dancers rehearsing this Paul Taylor signature piece.  Here’s a glimpse of rehearsal.

Patrick Corbin Stages Company B

Patrick Corbin — Artistic Director for CorbinDances and celebrated former dancer with The Paul Taylor Dance Company – is here casting and rehearsing the dancers for Company B.  This signature Taylor work, performed to contagious hits by the Andrews Sisters (“Rum and Coca-Cola,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” etc.), is part of Program I.

We sat down with Patrick to discuss Company B and his experience staging the work for MCB.
