Miami City Ballet School offers a two-week program designed for dedicated young dancers who are seeking a challenging summer dance experience. This program gives students ages 9 – 12 the chance to train with MCB’s renowned faculty and experience the highest quality of dance education. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to be exposed to MCB School’s curriculum and experience first-hand what it is like to train at Miami City Ballet School.

Students will attend a full day of classes ranging from Ballet, Pre-pointe/Pointe, Stretch, Variations, Contemporary, Musical Theater and Pilates. During these two – weeks our young dancers will find themselves immersed in an environment where we foster artistry, a love of dance, and respect for one another, while demanding dedication, focus, and hard work.

Important Information about COVID-19 Protocols: At this time, students will NOT be required to have a COVID-19 vaccination in order to participate in the day program. Please be aware that mask wearing and testing cycles might be required. Our Health & Safety Guidelines and protocols are continuously re-assessed by our COVID-19 Task Force and are informed by CDC guidelines, science and medicine, and engineering professionals so that we offer the safest environment possible for students, faculty, and staff.

Tuition and Fees

Registration Fee: $75
Two-Week Intensive Tuition: $1,250.00
*Please note – Housing is NOT available for the Young Dancer Intensive program.



Classes will be Monday – Friday.
Students will attend a full day of classes with an hour lunch break.

How do I audition?

Any student ages 9 – 12 can audition to be considered for the Young Dancer Intensive by auditioning during the 2022 Summer Intensive Audition Tour.

Students must be 9 years old by the beginning of the program on August 2. Please note, students who are 8 years old during the auditions, but will turn 9 by the start of the program, can register to audition.

During our 2022 Summer Intensive Audition Season, Miami City Ballet School currently plans to offer three audition options in order to be considered for our 2022 Summer & Spring Programs.

  • Option 1 – Attend an In-Person Audition Class at one of the tour locations announced
  • Option 2 – Attend A Virtual Audition Class
  • Option 3 – Submit a Video Audition

All applicants must submit an audition registration online prior to each assigned class deadline. Please note, different from previous years, applicants will not be able to register on the day of the audition.

If you cannot attend either an in-person or virtual audition class, video submissions are accepted. Results for video submissions will reviewed on a rolling bases and sent beginning January 7th, 2022.

Please only complete ONE registration form even if you are interested in more than one program. Participants only need to attend/submit one audition to be evaluated for all programs. You must register with the age group you are on the day of the audition. Accepted students are invited for the appropriate program(s) based on artistic evaluation.
