A World Premiere Commissioned by Miami City Ballet

On November 19, Miami City Ballet premiered a new work by internationally renowned choreographer Claudia Schreier, created especially for the virtual stage.

Places is the first of two MCB commissions made specifically for the digital space and in response to the pandemic. This work features six MCB dancers and an original composition for string quintet and piano by acclaimed Miami-based composer, Jorge Mejia.

Filmed at Miami’s stunning Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts by Alexander Iziliaev, the work is free and available to all.

Places made its world debut on Give Miami Day, Thursday, November 19, 2020. This digital work is our gift to our community. Now more than ever, we need the inspiration, hope, and joy that the arts bring.
