Dance Education
Explore Dance
Explore Dance brings Miami City Ballet Teaching Artists and Musicians into local classrooms to motivate and inspire children through dance and live music. Each of the teaching artists is trained by NDI (National Dance Institue) and instructs all Explore Dance classes utilizing the MCB (Miami City Ballet) curriculum. Explore Dance exposes students to a variety of dance forms including Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and Latin, and African Dances. The goal of Explore Dance Residencies is to bring high standard dance education that stimulates student creativity and builds technical and performance skills. The residencies are conducted during the school day and/or afterschool programming. In Title I Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Explore Dance is provided at no cost. Explore Dance provides an opportunity for all children to be considered for further training at the Miami City Ballet School through our Ballet Bus program.
All other schools and community programs may inquire about the cost of a residency by emailing outreach@miamicityballet.org.
STEAM+
In partnership with City of Miami Beach and the Bass Museum, Miami City Ballet teaching artists use dance to engage students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) learning. We seek to inspire the next generation of innovators, artists, and leaders through experiential-based learning.
Master Classes
Hosted across south Florida, MCB’s Community Engagement masterclasses/workshops bring teaching artists directly into schools and conservatories in Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties to provide access to Miami City Ballet School’s acclaimed artistry and curriculum.
