South American Summer Program
JULY 14 – JULY 25, 2025

South American Summer Program

Ages 9-18
2200 Liberty Ave Miami Beach

On July 14th to July 25th, 2025, Miami City Ballet is pleased to offer its annual South American Summer Program.

Each summer, the Miami City Ballet School (MCBS) opens its doors to young Latin American dancers through its South American Summer Program. The intensive two-week program welcomes South American dancers ages 9 to 18 who wish to elevate their technique through instruction from MCBS’s world-class faculty. Class offerings include ballet, pointe, repertoire, and stretch taught by MCBS Faculty. Students train alongside colleagues and peers from across South America in our beautiful South Beach facility—a wonderful introduction to the cultural diversity of Miami and the superior dance training MCBS offers!

For information on how to audition, please contact Renato Valverde at producao@ciadeballetdorj.com.br.

South American Summer Program History

Miami City Ballet is a company with significant ties to Latin America, both through its company dancers and its home city. The South American Summer Program of Miami City Ballet School (MCBS) arose in 2013 with the intention of identifying young dance talent in Latin America and providing the opportunity study in Miami with MCBS’s renowned faculty.  Invited students would have the possibility of joining the full year program or attending MCBS’s 5-week Summer Intensive the following year.

To enter the program, students must be between 9 and 18 years old and be approved in one of the auditions organized by the Rio de Janeiro Ballet Company throughout Latin America, or through video audition, directly with the CBRJ management.

The course is held for 2 weeks in the United States, at the headquarters of the Miami City Ballet.  At the end of the course, the student will receive a certificate assigned by the Rio de Janeiro Ballet Company and Miami City Ballet School Artistic Director, Arantxa Ochoa.
