Africa Ramirez
Children's DivisionAfrica Ramirez is a graduate of the prestigious Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza “Mariemma” in Madrid, Spain. She specialized in Spanish Dance while receiving extensive and rigorous training in Classical Ballet.
She also holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Pedagogy and Education from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. This academic background provided her with essential pedagogical tools, which she has integrated into her teaching practice, enriching her approach to dance education.
As a member of the conservatory’s company, Larreal, Africa toured internationally, performing in countries such as Estonia, Latvia, and Russia, where she represented the Spanish dance tradition on renowned stages abroad. In the United States, she appeared as a soloist in Bizet’s Carmen with the Florida Grand Opera, performing a featured flamenco solo created by acclaimed choreographer Rosa Mercedes.
Africa has focused part of her career on the artistic training of figure skaters. She has participated in two autumn intensives with ELS School in Basel, Switzerland, where she worked with international athletes. In Spain, she spent a year collaborating with synchronized skating teams such as Team Mirum and Team Fussion, helping them enhance their expressiveness and movement quality through dance training and choreographic work. She has most recently worked closely with World Champion Javier Fernández for four consecutive international summer intensives, where she taught figure skaters from all around the world.
In her instruction, Africa combines her expertise in Classical Ballet and Spanish Dance to help students refine their technique, stage presence, and expressive interpretation.
