Ballet For Young People
Ballet for Young People is Miami City Ballet’s signature Community Engagement program, presenting a child-friendly performance that’s fun for all ages!
An interactive, behind–the-scenes look at the art of ballet where you can learn how and when ballet began, what it takes to become a professional ballet dancer and how a ballet is created. The program starts with an interactive lecture demonstration followed by excerpts from Tarantella and Sleeping Beauty or Coppelia, followed by a new work created by Guest Choreographer and MCB School Alumni, Durante Verzola, “Le Petite Danse” music composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Each participant leaves with an educational program guide, including child-friendly activities related to the history of ballet, the ballets performed and the exciting world of dance, to which many are introduced for the first time.
