Like most ballerinas, Jennifer Kronenberg has been absorbed with dancing since she was a little girl. But the Miami City Ballet principal dancer has long loved another sort of expression, too.’I’ve always liked writing. In school English was my favorite subject,’ says Kronenberg. ‘It just flowed, and I enjoyed it. I always said one day I’d like to write a book. But I never saw it happening.’

Ballet figures into each and every day for Patricia and Jeanette Delgado. Miami, for that matter, does too. Born and raised in the city, the Delgado sisters are homegrown stars, who have worked their way up from the Miami City Ballet School to the main company, Miami City Ballet, where Patricia was named an apprentice in 2000 and principal in 2007 and Jeanette in 2003 and 2008.
Miami City Ballet appears to be thriving under the leadership of its new artistic director, Lourdes Lopez, who is now in her second season with the company. The troupe presented a strong Program I: First Ventures, at the Kravis Center on Friday night, that illustrated Lopez’s commitment to maintaining the works of masters such as George Balanchine while also breathing new life into the company by performing ballets by esteemed living choreographers.
Miami Beach, FL , On Friday, November 1 at Fienberg-Fisher Elementary School in Miami Beach, the Miami City Ballet School, the official school of the critically acclaimed Miami City Ballet (MCB), auditioned over forty 2nd and 3rd grade children for the School’s 28-week long Explore Dance outreach program. Explore Dance is an educational outreach program designed to promote the arts to our community’s youth through weekly-held classes that take place at MCB’s 63,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in Miami Beach.
