Nina Fernandes

Nina Fernandes was born in Rio De Janerio, Brazil and began her dance training at Centro de Artes Madeleine Rosay at age 13. She won international competitions such as YAGP in NY and WBC in Orlando. She continued her training at The Washington Ballet Studio Company and Tulsa Ballet II where she performed with the company in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Kirk Peterson’s Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty as Aurora, John Cranko’s Taming of the Shrew, Edward Liang’s Romeo and Juliet and other works.
In 2016, Fernandes joined Houston Ballet as a member of the corps de ballet. During her two seasons there her repertoire included George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations and Symphony in C, Christopher Wheeldon’s Carousel, Justin Peck’s Year of the Rabbit, Sir Kenneth McMillan’s Mayerling, Ben Stevenson’s Don Quixote, Stanton Welch’s La Bayadere, Swan Lake (Little Swans), Bolero, The Nutcracker among many others.
She joined MCB as a Corps de Ballet member for the 2018/19 season.
