Hometown:  State College, Pennsylvania

Alex Manning grew up in State College, Pa., where he began taking ballet classes at the Ballet Theatre of Central Pennsylvania. At the age of 13, Manning attended the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Mass. He was a ballet major there for his freshman and sophomore years of high school. He then attended Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle, Pa. from 2010-2013 where he trained with director Marcia Dale Weary, and also trained privately with Laszlo Berdo and Leslie Hench. Manning was awarded the Jerome Robbins Scholarship in 2012 while attending CPYB. In 2013, at age 18, he was offered a student apprenticeship with Miami City Ballet School. He was promoted to a member of the corps de ballet for the 2014-2015 season.
