Miami City Ballet gave New York a sneak peek at The Fairy’s Kiss prior to its world premiere on Feb. 10. Choreographer Alexei Ratmansky, Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez and projection designer Wendall K. Harrington discussed the creation of the new ballet, music by Igor Stravinsky, and MCB dancers.

MCB soloist Shimon Ito was named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in its January issue. The annual feature, recognizing up and coming dancers from a range of dance styles, says Ito “grabs attention with his keen physicality” in lead roles like Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
MCB principal dancer Renato Penteado won the title of Best Male Performance in Dance Magazine’s “Best of 2016” feature for bringing “his artistic prowess to a range of roles in 2016,” including Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
MCB’s spring tour was just named one of Pointe magazine’s Standout Performances of 2016. Starting with its triumphant Lincoln Center debut in New York City, the Company continued to garner praise in Chicago’s Harris Theater and Northrop in Minneapolis.
