MCB’s education and outreach programs demystify classical ballet, bringing dance from the stage and the studio to the classroom and streets of Miami. Your support has changed the lives of over 19,000 young people, seniors and traditionally underserved community members.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the very first day of Miami City Ballet School’s year-round program, two buses picked up 17 children from their elementary schools on the Biscayne corridor, North Miami Beach and Miami Beach to take them to their new after-school dance classes at MCB Studios.
Last month, MCB hosted special Touch Tours for patrons with visual impairments. During the tours, which took place at Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale and Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, offered a memorable, tactile, discussion-guided experience backstage to explore
Miami City Ballet’s signature educational outreach program Ballet for Young People had its 2014-2015 debut in Bailey Hall at Broward College on Friday, Nov. 7., followed by the Kravis Center’s Dreyfoos Hall on Monday, Nov. 17, featuring the MCB School Ensemble.
