Miami City Ballet School’s Prestigious Summer Intensive Program To Begin

Considered to be among the top Summer Programs for serious ballet students, Miami City Ballet School’s annual Summer Intensive will be held June 23-July 25. The program will draw approximately 200 aspiring young dancers (ages 12-19) from countries all over the world. The students are selected through an audition process.”Our school is garnering an excellent reputation and is considered to be a place to go for quality training in dance,” said Linda Villella, Director of Miami City Ballet School. “Our success with the Summer Intensive has drawn students from around the globe. It is very exciting to see these kids from all over the world come to Miami for ballet training,” she added.The program runs at Miami City Ballet’s 63,000-square-foot facility on Miami Beach and features an outstanding professional faculty including Edward Villella, Founding Artistic Director of Miami City Ballet and many other accomplished instructors including some of the principal dancers with Miami City Ballet.Classes are Monday through Friday from 9:30a.m. ? 4:30p.m. and include technique, pointe, partnering, jazz, variations, stretching, and repertoire classes. Most of the students will be housed at the Johnson and Wales University dormitories.
