Miami, Fort Lauderdale & West Palm Beach, FL

Our second program of the season brings to life George Balanchine's famous words "see the music, hear the dance."

Nine Sinatra Songs (Tharp/Arlen, Mercer, Cahn, Van Heusen, et al.)

Ballet meets ballroom in Twyla Tharp's popular work, Nine Sinatra Songs, featuring glamorous costuming by Oscar de la Renta and Great American Songbook classics by Ol' Blue Eyes.

Mercuric Tidings (Taylor/Schubert )

The symphonic works of Schubert are imbued with Paul Taylor's excitement and athleticism in Mercuric Tidings, a work in which Taylor said the "music and dance are so closely entwined, that they are one."

Symphony in Three Movements (Balanchine/Stravinsky)

George Balanchine's exultant "miracle ballet," Symphony in Three Movements, contains some of the most dynamic and complex patterns found in dance set to Stravinsky's driving, jazz-flavored score.
