MIAMI BEACH, FL – (November 25, 2015) – Miami City Ballet’s 30th anniversary production of the holiday spectacular, George Balanchine’s The NutcrackerTM returns in December to all four of MCB’s home venues.

This presentation of George Balanchine’s holiday classic – one of the few in the nation – has become a beloved tradition throughout South Florida, and is the perfect holiday treat for the entire family, featuring a winter wonderland of dancing snowflakes, sugar plum fairies and epic battles between heroic toy soldiers and mischievous mice. This lavish production includes magnificent scenery, elaborate costumes and a blizzard of snow – all performed to the magical music of Tchaikovsky.

Miami City Ballet School Announces National Audition Tour

Miami City Ballet School, the official school of Miami City Ballet and one of the most respected ballet training academies in America, will hold auditions for its prestigious MCB Summer Intensive. The National Audition Tour, sponsored by Freed of London, will kick off on Saturday, January 9 at two locations – Atlanta and Indianapolis – and continue to 15 additional cities across the United States until its conclusion on February 6.

Miami City Ballet to debut at New York’s Lincoln Center

Miami City Ballet will make its debut at New York’s Lincoln Center next April, capping off its 30th anniversary season by performing in one of the most storied and important theaters in the world.

The shows were announced Tuesday by the Joyce Theater Foundation, which will present MCB at the David H. Koch Theater, home to the New York City Ballet.

“It’s a landmark season, and to go to New York and celebrate this great company with New York audiences is a confluence of events one could only dream about,” MCB executive director Michael Scolamiero said Tuesday.
