Hometown: Hummelstown, Pennsylvania

Callie Manning was born in Chicago. She began taking dance classes at the age of 5. When she was 8, her family moved to Hummelstown, Pa. At that time, she began seriously training with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, under the direction of the world-renowned Marcia Dale Weary. After spending two summers at the School of American Ballet in New York City, she received a full scholarship to attend their year-round program at the age of 15. She spent following summers at The Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet and Suzanne Farrell’s Intensive Program. In 1999, at age 17, Manning was asked to join Miami City Ballet as a coryphée. She was promoted into the corps a year later. In 2005, she was promoted to soloist, and in 2011 to principal soloist. She has also spent many years serving Miami City Ballet dancers as a Company Representative. In 2010, she and fellow principal soloist, Didier Bramaz, were married in Switzerland.
