About 100 members and guests of the Artist Circle of the Miami City Ballet enjoyed decadent desserts and champagne at a post-performance reception Dec. 9 at the Founders Room of the Kravis Center. The ballet opened for its 26th season with a performance that included a standing ovation for the thrilling full-company final dance segment, “In the Upper Room,” choreographed by Twyla Tharp.

Philip Neal, Palm Beach liaison for the company, accompanied by Nicholas Goldsborough, new executive director, welcomed guests and presented a plaque to Ramon Mas Canosa, president, Frank Crystal & Co., and Katrina Lee, director, for hosting the party. Among the guests were the ballet company’s Palm Beach board members: Mike Schulz, Malka Fingold, Lisa Huertas and Adelaida Muniz-Iscoe. Others seen enjoying the evening were Lisa Mas Canosa, Vicki Halmos, Cheryl Gowdy, Susan Merritt, Mimi Kahn, Alfred Fiandaca, Susan Goldfarb, Richard Sheldon, Hayden Hosford, David and Elizabeth Wetherell, and George and Chris Winterling.
