MCB Summer Intensive – A Huge Success!

This summer, Miami City Ballet School was busy hosting students of all ages and levels in various summer programs.

Approximately 1,000 dancers auditioned earlier this year during the National Summer Intensive Audition Tour in major cities across the United States, Brazil, Colombia and via video submissions.

More than 200 students from all over the world participated in the 5-week MCB Summer Intensive. Nearly a quarter of these students were male dancers.

Iago Breschi, a student from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, shared, “”I love learning the Balanchine style and being in South Beach is amazing!”

“My favorite part of the intensive is the amount of hours we dance every day,” added Madeline Gardella, a student from Pennsylvania. “For me the more dancing, the better. You also can’t beat spending five weeks in Miami!”

When asked about her favorite class, Georgia Jennings, a student from New Jersey said, “My favorite class is partnering because it is fun to try new things and make new friends. This year was my first time partnering and it was a great experience.”

A big Bravo! to all the students who participated, and School Director Darleen Callaghan and her dedicated faculty and staff who made it all possible.
