Summer Chaperones

Position Overview: Miami City Ballet School is seeking six college students or young professionals, age 20 or older, to work as chaperones at the MCB Summer Intensive.

Qualifications: A background in dance or other arts is desirable but not required. Previous experience as a chaperone with students ages 12- 19 is preferable.

Work Dates: Saturday, June 20 through Sunday, July 26.

Reports to: School Programs and International Relations Manager

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with fellow chaperones to supervise MCB Summer Intensive students for the duration of the program at the dormitories, throughout the day at the studios, and during scheduled excursions and outings.
  • Ensure that students follow schedules and maintain punctuality.
  • Assist with lunch distribution and lunch room monitoring.
  • Manage dorm check-in and check-out.
  • Report misconduct, illness and absences to School Programs Manager.
  • Accompany ill or injured students to Urgent Care.
  • Maintain contact and medical information for each student.
  • Enforce safety at all times and implement all Miami City Ballet School policies and procedures.
  • Work creatively to provide a positive and entertaining experience for students.

Weekly compensation, plus housing at University of Miami and all meals.

Customer Service Representatives

Position Overview: Miami City Ballet is seeking customer service-oriented, motivated individuals to fill several part-time in season positions in its Box Office.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will represent Miami City Ballet in a professional manner by providing excellent internal and external customer service. Must be computer literate, possess excellent customer service/interpersonal skills, detail oriented and organized. Customer service experience is required.

Position duties included answer incoming telephone calls and greet visitors. Process in-bound (phone, mail, fax, e-mail and walk-up) subscription and single ticket orders. Provide daily payment settlements to immediate supervisors. Provide ticket holder services to existing ticket holders (subscribers, group members, and single ticket purchasers) such as ticket exchanges and duplication of lost/stolen tickets. Maintain customer records both computerized and hard copy. Act as sales clerk in in-house or traveling merchandise boutique. Provide support assistance to receptionist.
